The Amex Platinum 100K offer is one of the most sought after credit card sign-up offers. That’s because 100,000 Membership Rewards is a lot of points (worth close to $2,000 depending on the valuation). But that 100K offer can be extremely elusive and tricky to find.
Here’s are a few steps you can take to get targeted for the Amex Platinum 100K offer and check for it with the CardMatch link.

How to get the the Amex Platinum 100K offer
There are three ways to get the Amex Platinum 100K Offer:
- Pull up a targeted offer via Cardmatch
- Receive a targeted mailer or rsvp code
- Find a leaked application link
I’ll talk about all of these in-depth below, but first a quick refresher on the Platinum Card.
Amex Platinum highlights
The major value for the Platinum 100K offer is obviously the welcome offer but it’s good to remember all of the other valuable benefits that the Platinum Card has.
- $200 Uber Credit and $200 airline credit
- 5X on airfare and 5X on hotels booked through the Amex Travel portal
- Priority Pass access for you and two guests
- Centurion lounges access for you and two guests
- Delta SkyClub access when flying with Delta
- Hilton Honors Gold elite status
- SPG Gold Preferred elite status (and therefore Marriott Gold and Ritz-Carlton Gold), and rental car status as well
- TSA Pre-Check/Global Entry $100 credit
Welcome Offer for the Amex Platinum
The standard welcome offer for the Amex Platinum is 60,000 Membership Rewards for spending $5,000 within the first 3 months of account opening. So the 100K offer ups that offer by 40,000 points and the spending requirement is usually the same ($5,000 within the first 3 months).
I believe on very rare occasions there have been offers higher than 100K (with higher spend requirements) but those are rare and the spend requirements can get ridiculous so most people concentrate on the 100K offers.
Amex Business Platinum Card
Don’t get these offers confused with Amex Business Platinum Card.
The Business Platinum Card often comes with offers of 100K and above.
So if you want a lot of Membership Rewards and you have a business, then you might want to consider the Amex Business Platinum Card.

How to get targeted for the the Amex Platinum 100K offer
There are different methods for getting the Amex 100K offer link. You’ll first want to opt-in to pre screened offers here.
1. Cardmatch link
Over the past year or two, Cardmatch (a tool from CreditCards.com) has become one of the most popular methods for getting the 100K offer. It’s very simple, too. Simply visit their website and enter in your information and the last 4 digits of your social security number. They will perform a soft pull on your credit so it won’t affect your credit score.
- You can check your offers on Cardmatch link here
We saw these offers come around in 2017 multiple times and have already seen the Amex Platinum 100K 2018 offer multiple times so you can generally count on this offer rolling around every couple of months.
Note that there are methods floating out there (on sites like Reddit) where you can trick the system into offering you a 100K offer by using someone else’s name initially and then changing the application to your own name. There are also ways to pull up pre-qualified offers by slightly altering the spelling of your name in other non-Cardmatch links.
I personally wouldn’t go for these methods and you should note that Amex explicitly prohibits this type of activity in their terms and conditions:
If we in our sole discretion determine that you have engaged in abuse, misuse, or gaming in connection with the welcome bonus offer in any way or that you intend to do so (for example, if you applied for one or more cards to obtain a welcome bonus offer(s) that we did not intend for you[…]
2. Targeted offers
Sometimes American Express will send out targeted offers via mail, email, or on their own website. In my experience, Amex likes to send out targeted offers to people who don’t currently hold Amex cards. So if you only have one Amex card you don’t use, it could be worth cancelling it to become eligible for better offers (unless that’s an old credit card account that could help your credit history).
Targeted mailers and rsvp codes
You need to make sure that you have opted-in to pre-screen offers so that you’ll receive targeted offers. You can opt-in by clicking here. In addition, you can opt-in to offers specifically from American Express by clicking here.
Many people like to try to use targeted mailers sent to other people but it doesn’t seem to work, except when applying for the Amex Business Platinum Card. Also, note the terms and conditions found above which could easily be interpreted to prohibit this kind of activity.
The Amex website
You can also check to see which cards you’re pre-approved for via the American Express website by clicking here. (I prefer to open that link in an Incognito browser.)
3. Leaked application links
Over the past couple of years, Amex has leaked application pages offering a Amex Platinum 100K offer. Sometimes these leaks only lasted for a few hours setting off mad feeding frenzies!
This hasn’t occurred very often, though. In addition, Amex likes to crack down on folks more these days so jumping on such a link carries more risk than it previously did. I wouldn’t count on this method to get your 100K bonus but it’s worth noting that it could happen.
Amex Offers is the program American Express offers to cardmembers which provides discounts and promos to various merchants on a rolling basis. Every now and again, credit card offers are given out though it so you always want to check those out.
I’ve seen the Premier Rewards Gold Card in Amex Offers before but I’m not sure if Platinum Card offers have been offered.
I don’t think 100K offers have gone out via Amex Offers but you never know if an offer could be added in the future so I included this option.
Amex Platinum 75K offer
If you’re not able to pull up the 100K offer then you shouldn’t give up altogether.
Often American Express increases the welcome bonus on special links for several credit cards, including the Platinum Card.To pull up these offers, you’ll need to utilize Google Chrome Incognito or try out VPN methods.
(I personally don’t recommend VPN because Amex may see that as gaming or worse, fraud.)
When using Incognito mode, it helps to constantly refresh the Incognito browser window if you don’t see it but note that this does not always work.
I once pulled up a special offer after refreshing about eight times but I’d try not to get carried away for the sake of your sanity. Also, you usually don’t have to worry about Amex clawing back your bonus when applying for cards on an Incognito browser since they seem to be okay with it.
If you are savvy with Amex referrals you might be able to net even more than 75K, too.
Oncer per life time rule
American Express limits you to one welcome bonus per life time. In fact, here’s the specific language limiting you to one bonus per life time that you might find:
Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product.
This is a very important restriction to consider and it’s why so many people want to jump on the highest welcome bonus possible. (In practice, some people have been able to earn welcome bonuses again after waiting approximately seven years.)
No lifetime language
Sometimes the targeted offers don’t include language limiting you to one bonus per lifetime. When this occurs, you should be eligible to receive the welcome bonus again.
Be careful though. Sometimes the language can differ between the landing page and the application page. Generally, the terms found on the application page will be binding since that contains the contract terms but you should screenshot everything you possibly can when dealing with targeted offers.
Matching to the 100K offer
American Express does not typically match credit card welcome bonuses to higher offers. Instead, they sometimes grant you “
sympathy courtesy points” often in an amount less than the amount of points needed to make up the difference. Still, it never hurts to give it a shot since the worst they can do is say no.
Amex application restrictions
American Express has some very specific application rules. Most of the special rules apply to credit cards and thus don’t apply to the Platinum Card because it’s a charge card. However, you should still read up on the Amex application rules here.
Is the Amex Platinum 60K offer worth it?
If you can’t find ever find the 100K or 75K offer then the 60K offer can still be worth it.
The ability to hit 60,000 points and recoup $600 worth of travel credits before your second annual fee hits is a major reason why. But the Platinum also comes with so many benefits like Centurion Lounge access and hotel elite status that it’s often worth holding on to for the long-term.
So, yes, if you can’t get the 100K or 75K offer then the 60K offer can still make sense to pursue.
Final word on the Amex Platinum 100K offer
The Amex Platinum 100K offer is an extremely valuable welcome bonus.
Even if you don’t plan on using many of the perks of the Platinum Card, coming up with 100,000 Membership Rewards is usually worth paying the $550 annual fee, especially considering that Uber and airline credits that the card comes with.
They key to getting the 100K offer is to be patient and to keep trying different methods. You can also get “creative” but you need to always consider the consequences of your creativity when doing so.
