Louisiana with fastest growth rate in the world

Louisiana is one of the latest states to issue a state wide lock down on anything except for essential travel.

Like other states, residents are still allowed to head to places like grocery stores and pharmacies but they are not allowed to do things like head to work unless they are essential and gatherings of 10 or more people are prohibited.

Louisiana has also deployed a special police team to enforce the restrictions (businesses that don’t comply could lose their license to operate within the city permanently.)

Taking a closer look at what is going on in the state, you can realize why they were one of the first to issue such restrictions. Right now, Louisiana has the fastest growing rate of coronavirus that we are seeing in the first 13 days. And that’s not just compared to other states in the country, that is compared to other countries.

Louisiana is also in the top three of cases per capita (New York is number one).

Just in a matter of one week Louisiana went from reporting under 100 cases to more than 800. The governor has stated that Louisiana could run out of healthcare capacity within a week to 10 days if these trends continue at the rate they are going at.

They’ve been hit particularly hard in certain retirement communities where there has been a cluster of cases and deaths.
